Save, edit, or share a search query

You can save, edit, or share a search query by bookmarking the search results page in your browser. You can use the bookmark to quickly run the search again without needing to enter all the search criteria again.

The steps to save, edit, or share a search query change depending on your immediate needs.

To save, edit, or share a search query:

  1. To save your search query, first configure it and confirm the results, and then use the browser to save it as a bookmark.

Bookmarking the page saves the search parameters you used for the search. Each time you open the bookmark, the same search automatically runs again.

Note: Since the search runs each time you open the bookmark, the results update each time.

For example, you save a search for objects modified in the last 7 days. On the day you open the bookmark, the results show the objects modified in the 7 days before that day.

  2. (Optional) To edit the search query you saved, choose one of the following actions:
    • Edit the search by editing the URL from your bookmark, since that is where it is embedded.
    • Run a different search and bookmark the page.
  3. (Optional) To save the search query, copy the URL from your bookmark and then share it with others using the medium of your choice by pasting and sending it.
The saved query automatically runs for when they open the link. However, they may need to sign-in to CCMS Web first.
Note: Searches that reference "the user" (such as Checked out by Me or Last checked in by Me) actually use the ID of the user who runs the search. So if Dan shares his search for objects Last checked in by Me with Ahmed, it finds objects last modified by Dan.
