Upgrade your plug-ins

Upgrade plug-ings for each CCMS Desktop instance that you have in your deployment.

To upgrade your plug-ins:

  1. Go to the 7.1 area of the MadCap Software Downloads site:
  2. Click the CCMS_Desktop folder.
  3. Click the Dropins_version folder where version is the latest version.
  4. Download the required drop-ins.
Note: Because packages may have a different list of plug-ins in them, download only the new version of plug-ins that already exist in the folder.

    The available plug-ins are:

    Plug-in name Description Required
    com.ixiasoft.eclipse.dita-cms Provides the main functionality.

    Required in every package.

com.ixiasoft.eclipse.ReleaseManagement Provides functionality for IXIA Dynamic Release Management.

Required only if your deployment includes the DRM add-on.

    com.ixiasoft.eclipse.oxygen.author

    OR

    com.ixiasoft.eclipse.oxygen.editor

Provides the CCMS Desktop context menus in the Oxygen XML Editor installed in Eclipse. It also installs the IXIA CCMS Desktop User Guide online help. Each package requires one of these plug-ins.

    com.ixiasoft.textml.textmladmin

    AND

    com.ixiasoft.eclipse.dita-cms-admin

Together, these two plug-ins enable a user administer the CCMS:
    • The textml.textmladmin plug-in allows users to interact with the MadCap Software TEXTML Server component.
    • The eclipse.dita-cms-admin plug-in provides access to the CCMS administration tools.
Optional. Required only in packages for CCMS Administrators.
Note: Both plugins are required for CCMS Administrators.
  5. In the %packagesfolder%\dropins folder of your Eclipse packaging directory, do the following:
    1. Create a subfolder named after each of the new plug-ins.
      For example:
      C:\temp\desktop-packages\prod\dropins\com.ixiasoft.dita-cms-[build version]

Where [version] is the number of the release and [build version] is the number of the software build.

    2. Extract the content of the downloaded MadCap Software plug-ins to the new folders that are named after them.
Once completed, the structure should be similar to the following example, which shows a package with the DRM and Oxygen plug-ins:
    Drop-ins structure
  6. Delete the following old plug-ins from %packagesfolder%\dropins:
    1. com.ixiasoft.eclipse.dita-cms-<old-version>
    2. com.ixiasoft.eclipse.dita-cms-admin-<old-version>
    3. com.ixiasoft.eclipse.oxygen.author-<old-version>
    4. com.ixiasoft.eclipse.oxygen.editor-<old-version>
    5. com.ixiasoft.eclipse.ReleaseManagement-<old-version>
