Coordinate upgrades in a dedicated SaaS deployment

When you are ready to upgrade IXIA CCMS, you can ask MadCap Software to perform the upgrade and then you can configure any new features.

  1. Decide when to upgrade:
    1. Ensure you receive MadCap Software marketing communication to be notified of all release announcements.
    2. Each time an upgrade is released, review the release notes for functionality that you might want.
    3. Discuss upgrade options with your MadCap Software Customer Success representative.
  2. When you are ready, work with MadCap Software to schedule the upgrade during an existing maintenance window.
  3. During the maintenance window, participate in the upgrade as follows:
    1. Stand by for the email notification from MadCap Software indicating that it has backed up the affected components on the Test environment, upgraded the Test environment, and validated the Test environment.
    2. Log into the Test environment to validate the upgrade.
    3. Wait while MadCap Software backs up the affected components on the Production environment, upgrades the Production environment, and validates it.
  4. Log in to the Production environment and perform some testing such as changing status, locking and editing topics, and so on.
  5. If required, configure features introduced in the upgrade.
