Maps
Maps provide a structured hierarchy to objects and content within it.
The map is a file that contains references to all the objects, usually topics, that are included in the document. Think of it like the table of contents or an outline for a document.
Maps serve several purposes and can act as a parent or child to another map, either as a root map or a submap, respectively. The most frequent submaps within a root map are:
- Glossary maps
- Index maps
You can navigate to topics from the map or make edits, such as topic additions or deletions, as well as moving topics through promotion or demotion on the map. You can expand a section if you added children topics underneath it.
