Anti-virus scanning on the client
Having an anti-virus program perform real-time scanning of the IXIA CCMS Desktop installation directory and workspace folder can reduce the performance of CCMS Desktop.
To reduce performance issues, the anti-virus program must be configured to prevent real-time scanningĀ of certain files and ports. Regular scanning (manual or scheduled) can still be performed, if required.
Exclude the following from being scanned:
- The CCMS Desktop communication ports (1501, 1500, and 2500 by default).
-
The folder where Eclipse is installed.
These files have a ZIP signature, and the anti-virus program usually tries to open each of them for scanning.
-
The workspace folder where Eclipse stores documents for CCMS Desktop
The files in this folder are only used by CCMS Desktop, and they are never executed. Most of the files are XML files. However, other types of files can also be present (ZIP, PDF, JPG, GIF, PNG, etc) , as well as any other type of file that is uploaded to CCMS Desktop as a resource.
