Understanding the Version tag feature
A version tag is an object that captures the contents of a product version or library version at a particular point in time. It is like a snapshot for an entire version.
A version tag contains a list of all the objects that were in the version when the tag was created. You can then use this tag to rebuild the version and the objects that it contained—container, container parts, topics, images, referable content, submaps, etc.—exactly as they were when the tag was created.
You can rebuild this version in any release inside the same product or library.
Note: Creating a version tag on a product will not tag its underlying
libraries. Only the direct content of the product will be tagged. If you need to tag
a library, you must create the tag on a library version.
