Start the localization process
You start localization by creating one copy of the map and its contents for each of the target languages in the localization area.
You can localize a map, topic, or snapshot in the Authoring cycle. When you localize a map or snapshot, all of the topics and images that it contains (including referred topics) are also localized. When you localize a topic, its images and referred topics are also localized.
If auto-translation is enabled, IXIASOFT CCMS Desktop tries to auto-translate as much of the topics as
possible based on previous translations of the same topic.
Note: By default,
auto-translation is always enabled in the concurrent localization method. It is
optional in the sequential localization method. See your Administrator to know
which method you are using and whether auto-translation is enabled.
The localization process requires a substantial amount of system resources. If you are localizing several maps in many different languages you may notice an impact on your computer's performance.
To begin localization:
- A localization kit for the map and its topics
- An image localization kit for any images that need translation
