Insert a key

In IXIASOFT CCMS Web, you can insert elements as variables by inserting them into a topic as a key (also know as a keyref).

To add a key, you must check out the topic and select a context map for the topic.

Also, the key you want to insert must be defined in the map or a submap.

To insert a key:

  1. In Topic Editor, select the location in the topic where you want to add the key.
  2. On the toolbar, click Insert links and variables defined as DITA keys.
    The DITA Keys dialog appears. It lists all the keys defined in the whole key space, which includes all of the submaps. The value for the @keydef attribute is listed first, followed by the value that is inserted and appears in the topic.
  3. For the key you want, select its row.
  4. Click Insert

The key is inserted at the location you selected as a <ph> element. Its background is shaded differently.
