If some Branches are unavailable for
you, you must fork the topic and create a new instance. The changes you make will only
appear in the Branches you select.
To see if you must fork a topic, look for the Fork icon ().
To fork a topic:
-
For the topic, click .
The Fork &
Edit dialog appears. All the available Branches are
selected by default. This means that changes you make to the topic will
appear in the new instance of the topic you create for these available
Branches.
- (Optional):
Select or deselect Branches to change which Branches the topic
is forked in.
Note: You cannot select all Branches If the topic is in Done status (or
the equivalent final status in your deployment). You can cancel the fork and
then move the topic to Work status first before editing it in all Branches. Or you
must deselect Branches to fork the topic in the rest of the Branches.
-
Click Next.
A search appears showing all the top-level maps the topic is currently.
-
Do one of the following:
- To pick a Context Map, click the radio button for it.
- To edit the topic without a Context Map, click No context
map.
-
Click Fork &
Edit.
A new instance of the topic is created and opens in Topic Editor. Any
changes you make appear only in that topic for those Branches.
