Why does a .metadata error appear when trying to launch the IXIASOFT CCMS Desktop?
This can be resolved by removing some corrupted Eclipse files.
Symptom
When starting IXIASOFT CCMS, an Eclipse dialog box appears saying An error has occurred. See the <workspace>/.metadata/.log file.
Problem
The Eclipse workspace has been corrupted.
Solution
- Close IXIASOFT CCMS.
- Delete the .metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.e4.workbench\workbench.xmi file from the workspace.
- Start IXIASOFT CCMS.
To prevent this issue, IXIASOFT recommends closing all topics open in the oXygen Editor before exiting Eclipse.
