Validate selection

Use this procedure to validate the XML syntax of the selected element(s).

1. Open your topic in the XMetaL editor.
2. Select the element(s) you want to validate.
3. Do one of the following:
   • On the Validation toolbar, click the Validate Selection button ().
   • From the menu bar, select XML Document > Tools > Validate Selection...
   If there are errors in the XML syntax, the Validation dialog appears.

   

4. Double-click errors to locate the problematical content.
5. Click Close when you are finished.
