General and assignment access rights

General access rights control access to basic actions, so most users have access to them.

Note: Users without this access right can only view and work within the worklists to which they are a member.

Note: All users have the access rights in bold by default. To change the configuration for these access rights, add a new method with the access right name and configure it as needed.

Allows users to add words to Spellchecker dictionaries, found in the dicts folder of the system configuration

Note: Users without this access right can still use the Spellchecker, but they cannot add any new words to the dictionaries.

ApplyLabels

Allows users to add existing labels from a configured list to objects and to remove labels from objects

Note: Users without this access right cannot add or remove labels on objects.

Change Status

Allows users to alter an object's status

Note: Users without this access right cannot change the status of objects.

CCMS Web: Move

Clone

Allows users to clone objects

Note: A clone is an exact copy of the object. In DRM environments, the clone is created in the same branches as the original. Users without this access right cannot clone objects.

Compare

Allows users to compare two revisions of an object with each other in the Revision History view

Copy ID

Allows users to copy the ID of an object

Copy Title

Allows users to copy the title of an object

Copy fullpath

Allows users to copy the repository filepath of an object. For example, /content/authoring/ uwd1628265108858.ditamap

Copy reference

Allows users to copy an object's filename

CreateMap

Allows users to create maps

Note: Users without this access right cannot create maps.

CreateResource

Allows users to create resource objects

Note: Users without this access right cannot create resource objects.

EditLabels

Allows users to add, edit, or delete labels in the master list

Note: This option provides GUI access to the list of labels in the userproperties.xml configuration file.

Edit Variables

Allows users to insert existing key definitions from a configured list into the currently locked map

Note: This list is the keydefnames.xml configuration file.
Note: Users without this access right cannot access the configured list of key definitions.

Insert Variables

Allows users using Oxygen XML Editor to insert key definitions that are defined in the context map as a key reference

ImportImage

  • CCMS Desktop: Allows users to create a new image object
    Note: It does not affect the user's ability to import an image using File > Import. That option is available unless it is hidden using the eclipseui.xml configuration file.
  • CCMS Web: Allows users to create a new image object by importing it within a checked-out topic

ImportTopic

Note: Users without this access right can open and view objects, but cannot make any updates or modifications.

Allows users to open and view objects

Open with

Allows users to open and view objects in a selected editor

Note: The editor must be associated with the object type using Eclipse's File Association preferences, which are completely separate from the operating system's file associations.

Properties

Allows users to view the File Properties dialog for an object

Note: This access right does not affect the availability of the Properties view, which displays completely different information about the object.

Redline Compare

Allows users to compare a map in the Authoring cycle with a published version or snapshot of the map using the redline compare function

Note: This produces a PDF showing the differences between the two maps.

Remove as Droppoint

Allows users to remove drop points from a map

Note: Drop points only persist while a map is open in DITA Map view.

Restore

Allows users to recover deleted objects, moving them from the Deleted cycle to the Authoring cycle.
