Start the localization process
Localization begins by creating a copy of the map and its contents in the localization area, one for each of the target languages.
You can localize a map or topic in the Authoring cycle. When you localize a map, all of
the topics and images that it contains (including referred topics) are also
localized. When you localize a topic, its images and referred topics are also
localized.
Note: You cannot localize a snapshot directly. To localize a snapshot,
first publish the snapshot and then run the select command on the published version of the snapshot.
During localization, if auto-translation is enabled, the CCMS will try to auto-translate as much of the topics as
possible based on previous translations of the same topic.
Note: By default,
auto-translation is always enabled in the concurrent localization method. It is
optional in the sequential localization method. See your Administrator to know which
method you are using and whether auto-translation is enabled.
The localization process requires a substantial amount of system resources. If you are localizing several maps in many different languages you may notice an impact on your computer's performance.
